Chex A Gun (Grace)

The crown jewel of our broodmare band, Grace is a grand-daughter of the legendary cutting horse Playgun, and of Canadian Reining star Prime Time Chex.  She produces foals that are muscular, versatile, sensible, easy to work with, and very people-friendly.  You can never go wrong with owning any of her foals.....if you can ever convince the breeders to part with one!

Grace's first foal was a chestnut colt, born in 2012 before we owned her.  He is sired by SR Kool Starlite, an AQHA and NRCHA World Show Qualifier.  Ceelo is currently owned by the Suter family in Prince George, who are using him as a roping horse.

In 2014, Grace had a strong-bodied chestnut filly by the same sire, who is currently in training and still owned by her breeder.

We purchased Grace in 2015 from Carol Hilton in Salmon Arm, BC and bred her to Jaz Poco Goldun Blue, an accomplish reiner who has over 27% Poco Bueno blood.  Grace had a spectacular, confident, big-bodied red dun filly in 2016 who is currently in Southern Alberta training to be a ranch horse.  "Rain" will be for sale once she gets some more training work under her belt.

2017 brought a friendly and sassy well-built chestnut filly by Pegasus, an NCHA earner of almost $55,000 who retired completely sound.  Electra will also be staying with us, proving that Grace's foals are superior quality, regardless of sire pairing!

2019 was the best year yet!  Bred to Shiver Shake, a son of Doc's Hickory, Grace produced an outstanding giant sorrel colt whose presence was undeniable from day 1.  Duke makes his home in Prince Edward Island these days, and has started penning and sorting.

For 2021, Grace had a sweet filly by Rollin In My Dually.  She's a real knockout with a killer pedigree!  We have retained Ginny for our breeding program, since she embodies everything we want to produce in an Quarter Horse.

In 2022, we repeated the same breeding to Rollin In My Dually and got another born-tame, growthy, exquisitely-built filly!  Lara is offered for sale and can be found on our 'Horses For Sale' Page.

2023:  Grace finally had her foal on July 8th - a cute Red Dun colt by our herd stallion Jager.  He can be found on our sale page.
